xRingoxChiux Would it surprise you if we said that Deion Sanders broke all Google trends in 2023 for just his sunglasses? It was when Jay Norvell, who entered his third season as the HC for the Colorado State program this year, sparked controversy for not taking his glasses off while talking to adults. It felt like a well-written script since it happened the same week when Sanders officially launched a new collection of sunglasses for Blenders. Ergo, anything that concerns his precious glasses is a personal matter for Prime Time. But this time, it was no controversy: Oh, no! When a Buffs player strikes, not even Coach Prime’s luxury glasses are safe! It hit a climax when Buffs TE Louis Passarello donned his coach’s glasses without ‘permission.’ To say that Poncherello wasn’t surprised by Sanders’s reaction the next day would be an understatement. Initially, Sanders playfully feigned being disrespected by the actions, only to return the very next day to present him with an exclusive “PRIME” pair of Blenders. Here’s what went down. While the team is going through grueling training sessions to undo the 4-8 curse of the 2023 season, it does give way to moments of laughter. On this week’s YouTube edition of Well Off Media, pointing at Louis, the Buffs HC teasingly confessed, “Yesterday, he had on a pair of Blenders, right. And then, wanted mine. So I felt very disrespected.”  ADVERTISEMENT Article continues below this ad But Deion Sanders has a big heart. Rather than expressing anger or disappointment at the player’s boldness in wanting his favorite pair of shades, the Buffs HC made sure to fulfill the player’s wish. Coach Prime admitted how “he (the player) was on my mind all night” and handed him one from his Blenders collection that has “PRIME” engraved on the corner of the glass. They hugged it out, and Sanders said this before calling it a scene: “That’s all I needed. That’s all I wanted. Don’t disrespect me. Unless they don’t wear my shades, they’re off the team,” accompanied by hearty laughter.   While on the subject, you must be wondering how Deion’s shades always land him in trouble. Or not? Colorado State coach Jay Norvell made a brutal jab at Deion Sanders just three days before the Buffs would host a game against them on Sept 16. Many understood the development as Norvell peaking in envy since the Buffs were returning with bells and whistles on after winning the season opener and the game after that against TCU and Nebraska respectively. The jab was not directly pointed at Sanders but everyone knew who he was talking about on his weekly coach’s show when he said, ADVERTISEMENT Article continues below this ad “When I talk to grown-ups, I take my hat and my glasses off. That’s what my mother taught me.”Sanders didn’t take too long to fire back on his weekly coach’s show Thursday, “I’m a grown man. Don’t tell me what I supposed to wear and what I don’t supposed to wear. Please.” But it served another purpose at the same time when the Buffs HC cleverly flipped the situation to his advantage. Not only did he lead the Buffs to a 43-35 win, Sanders took a step further to prove his loyalty and amp up his collaboration with the Blenders that was then valued at $90 million. To make Blenders brand a part of the Buffs family, Coach Prime created a new rule for the players, “Not only we going to kick their b**t, we’re going to take over their Stadium. We going to have every kid… to come in there with shades on. I’m asking every kid I want you wear your shade.” ADVERTISEMENT Article continues below this ad The brand, too, made every use of this opportunity of the jab that came from CSU Rams and sent glasses to the entire Buffaloes team. Guess what? It worked like a charm as just one day ahead of the hyped game, Blenders racked up $1.2 million worth of sales.  Deion Sanders became an essential part of the Blenders family back in late 2019 when the brand was acquired by the Safilo Group, an Italian eyewear company. Current CEO Chase Fisher’s father is a big fan of Coach Prime and the HC collaborated with them to gift the players new pairs. But the time has arrived to gift himself one as he just lost his favorite “PRIME” pairs.   EssentiallySports is a digital-first sports media house that surfaces the best stories on America’s favorite sports celebrities with a fan’s perspective to 30+ M average monthly readers.
